Miracle and Inspiration - Heart of a Champion

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones..

I am all about miracles and inspiration, I believe each and everyday miracles big and small are being performed. So many life changing events happen to you and me, though we may not see the tangible effects of our own miracles they totally exist.

This Christmas has me watching ESPN - the story of a fallen fighter and Coach - Coach Mulkey. Coach Mulkey was a firefighter and a high school coach for a 4-A team. The day after his first wedding anniversary Coach Mulkey was dispatched to the worst fire since Sept. 11. - trying to stop the fire somehow Coach Mulkey got trapped and died with 9 others during this fire.

5 years before this incident Coach Mulkey had a vision that his Summerville basketball team would win the state championship. 6 months after the fire the team dedicated "there" year to Coach Mulkey. In a heroic effort the team went on a 23 - 6 record and heading to the state finals. It was a buzzer beater shot that saved and gave the Summerville basketball team the state championship.

SO.. what does this mean.. it means that miracles bring inspiration. so believe in your truths and hopes and God will continue to bless you...

BART etiquette

so last week i was riding BART. i spend about 80 min on Bart (40min. each way), 400min. per week on BART and etc.. so this post is dedicated to the "DOOSHes" who have not been educated in what to do on BART - BART etiquette.

BART:
1. Full train - move over toward the ends of the train. This will allow for people to come into and out of the train.
2. "Ol' Chinese Lady with PINK bags" - DO NOT bring your smelly seafood bags from Powell/Montgomery to Balboa station. However if you do please tie a firm knot so minimal smells protrude.
3. Earphones - earphones are meant for you ears, not for the public.
4. Cell Phones - DO NOT have a full conversation on the phone yelling on the top of your lungs "I'm going through the tunnel, and can't hear you," if you are saying this please hang-up the phone. do not proceed to continue your conversation.
5. DEODORANT - if you SMELL, for humanity please put on some deodorant.

and the real reason for this post.. (see pic).

So on a train going northbound there was an individual we can name "Bob". Bob looks like he doesn't ride Bart much because of his "characteristics". So sitting on a four seater, Bart and I are sitting directly across from each other (diagonally from each other). So Bob begins to listen to his music and shake his entire body - Shaking your entire body creates a mini earthquake that shakes the entire BART train. Bob continues to shake but now has decided that the he wants to put this huge smelly feet on the empty seat next to me. So NOW he is shaking his body, with his legs entirely on Bart. I begin to give him the "eye" the "stare" but to no response he continues this for the whole ride. Then Bob begins to stare at all the ladies, young and old. Too my disgust I crop-dust a Fart that makes him a little weary of his place. A small win in my thoughts as i exit to my bart station..

So to Bob.. i hope you read this post and learn from your uneducated ways.. Peace be with you Bob and I hope you learn BART etiquette.. To when we meet again ..

help wanted!?!?!?

So after a nice brunch in Northbeach on the way back to the gf house we notice this ol' Chinese lady looking at her pumpkin. As we continue to walk forward a few more feet, I turn around and see her kicking her pumpking up the street. The rest go as follows..

below: so this is the beginning - it looks like she is yelling at me but she was a very quiet ol' Chinese lady who spoke a dialect of Mandarin..

below: So since i did not understand her dialect of Mandarin she proceed by writing her address on the pumpkin. (Her apartment was on Powell and Broadway - we met her on Powell and Union. So about a 4 block walk!! carrying a pumpkin!!)

below: this is by our 4th block we were nearing her apartment. I though it was a retirement home but she said "Bu - Bu - Bu" meaning NO NO NO.. she had a huge smile the whole way while we were walking..

below: we got to her apartment, she lived on the 3rd floor (no stairs). A little confused i set the pumpkin at the foot of the first floor. She said NO! And told me to carry it up the stairs.. This is my victory pose and us at the foot of her door..

After i dropped of the enormous pumpkin in her living room, she kindly asked us to come in for what i think would be tea and snacks. But we were a little bit oddly strucked by the whole matter and said no thank-you.

The ol' Chinese lady, whose name was "Wu." She is a gentle-hearted soul who wanted her enourmous pumpkin.. It would have taken her hours to kick and stab her pumpkin up 4 slightly inclined blocks. I felt a little tug on my heart and wished her well as we said goodbye. Her apartment seemed very lonely and dark. Auntie Wu if you blog.. I wish you the best with your pumpkin stew..!!!

and finally we had our traditional Sunday family dinner.. and it was ummm AWESOME.

STUDYING NOW!

T - 21 days!!

notes

little questions...

- why do 4 day weekends feel so so good.
- why are people so interesting.
- why do people have to resort to killing to make a point?
- why are we so concerned they way the world may think of us?
- why?
- why do scents attach to memories that attach to feelings?
- what is stopping me to achieve what i want?
- how can we not be so prejudice?
- when?

and then there are answers...

It will be 21 days till my GMAT test. Things are heavily picking up and i am led to believe that the next few weeks will make or break me. So why should i fret? Well there are not hundreds and thousands of people making there way into grad school with the slumping economy - good for them.. and bad for me. More competition will bring out a stricter pool of candidates. OBVIOUSLY!

so what shall we say.. STUDY.. however i feel the need to break free from the monotonous work days and study night to be selfish and do what is natural. Natural = FUN and FUN is going out.. so the next updates will be of fun? or of STUDY?

we shall see..

i will be writing to you over the next few weeks as i am trying my new years resolution 32 days earlier.. blogging!

where can i find blogging buddies? and not the married kind that talk about there marriage.. something deeper, sexy, social, spicy, HOT, kind, food for thought, sad, humor, and challenging..

unstoppable

kinda went shoppping.. kinda as in didn't buy very much..

i think there are days when everything in the world suits your wallet, and then there are times that everything you may have is not enough to give. I got 2 shirts today.. but then got thinking of how much other people may not have. I think our culture, the eyes we view the world have been trained just to "have", "own", and "want". rather then give, share, and learn.

so what now? Now i look and see through better eyes, learn from the world, and apply what i may know..

whoa..

whoa that is incredibly ugly picture of me in the sombrero.. what was i thinking of posting that pic! aiyah..

So i have been reading the Economist just because GMAT prep people "highly" recommend the reading to widen my breath of material for the exam. Well it sucks. haha. it doesn't suck that bad actually, i find it to be intellectually stimulating and it does widen my "breath" of what is out there. Not hating on the fans of US weekly and whatever Perez Hilton is dishing out this week, but there are very substantial articles that have a wide affect for you and me.. my rambling of the economist click-here.

I've been trying to search deep with-in to find what i truly desire in life. One minute it is to be on top of the world, the next is to be a Chef, the next is to be nomad, next it to be an entrepreneur, next is Sports analyst, next is ... there will always be a next but what about a now? I find myself debating what i want now vs what i want next.. it is totally true on we need to satisfy our inner most being by believing in the center of what our hearts desire... i probably fumbled up that saying but its code for me to understand.. comprende?

a passage from this evening small group: (paint this picture)
21"No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. 22And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins."

Yes.. been trying to dig deeper into the heart.. and the heart is prevailing as I have been able to attend small group for the past few weeks --amen!

Speaking of next... Columbian espresso with an almond-biscotti and for good measure the "Leaders" column of the Economist..

so as i go forward..

...Time .. 60 seconds.one minute.one hour.one day.one year. one.

seems like i just need that one idea to captivate me to totally jump on and create. Just like that one chance and one moment. But then again i ponder... and my think how every little moments will make up this greater idea. And this greater idea will then bring this greater good..

Time.. yes time will only tell how far I can get in thinking and developing my business ideas. The culture we live in (or I choose to live in) does not allow for ideas to develop and nurture slowly. I can only search deeper into what I know.. and try to take one step/moment at a time.

For now I will assist and be of assistance to what I have devoted my time..
- New leaf Clothing (http://newleafclothing.com)
- charity work

As i go forward i step back to gain what I have learned from the past, and look into the future with greater good and opportunity. I am and always strive to be an optimist.
